Let's keep suggestions about ideas, topics, and projects for the Future Commons to explore here. This can be a running list of things we may want to work on as a group or people we might want to invite to an event. As ideas, questions, and interesting people pop up in the google groups discussion, it would be nice to post them here so we can keep track of them and formulate them into workable issues for face to face gatherings or as wiki projects.

Mapping the Future Commons

  • Have a group of interested people meet in advance to discuss the process
  • Have them select software to use
  • Have them seed the network with their own information and observe how well (or not) it works
  • And finally have them conduct a working session with FC members (a regular FC meeting @ IFTF) in which people add to the information, watch the process, discuss, and so forth.
  • Chuck mentions "a network mapping tool (LinkSViewer) that might be of interest for mapping Future Commons and IFTF relationships. Seems to do a good job of visually displaying different roles and different kinds of relationships. Check out the case study examples for illustrations of how it might work (although we would be interested in mapping different roles than this venture capital context)." Link
